Community exhibition coming up – photos wanted!

Plump squirrelAs you may be aware from our Facebook page, the Friends of Wanstead Parklands have been asked to curate a photographic exhibition at The Temple to run between 4-26 July.

Our last two exhibitions have been heritage-related, and completely designed and put together by ourselves. However, on this occasion we should like to celebrate the natural aspect of the park with a display of images of the park’s flora and fauna. We should also like to make this a more collaborative event, with participation by the many extremely talented local photographers.

What we are looking for is submissions of images in sufficiently high resolution to be printed at A3 size, with the photographer’s name and a brief title or description to be included below. Copyright will remain with the submitter, though we will wish to post low resolution (700px) versions of the images to a gallery on the Friends’ website, and in a similarly low-resolution PDF download of the exhibition images and text. No further use of the images will be made except by prior agreement.

In the event that we receive more than the maximum 20 or so submissions which can be accommodated, we will appoint a panel to make the final selection.

We anticipate that the exhibition will be hung on 1 July, but the effective cut-off date for submissions has had to be brought forward and will now be 20 June. Queries and submissions should be sent to

This event is part of the 2015 Wanstead Park Festival.
