Harking back to over 200 years ago when fire work displays were common place in the Park.
The AGM will have a few interesting and brief presentations:
John Cryer MP
We will hear John’s progress lobbying heavily with the City on our behalf together with 12 other local MPs.
Geraldine Roberts Author of The Angel and The Cad
With insights into the intrigues of Wanstead House… Was it social media at its very beginning..?
Light bites, wine and a pay bar will be on hand
Event is free to members and only £5 for non-members (which then includes membership)
N.B. This event is children-friendly & will finish by 9pm
It’s simple to let us know you’re coming- just register on eventbrite so we can cater for numbers.
NEW BENEFIT
There are many benefits of being a Friend of Wanstead Parklands and we’ve just secured a new one:
Every member will become a social member of the Wanstead Golf Club: saving you £20.

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY VACANCY
We thank Amy, our current Membership Secretary, has done a great job but work pressure means sue must step away from the role for now. Everything is up to date all that’s needed is someone to carry out the weekly admin- sending reminders and updating new members etc…

KEEP UP TO DATE
The park has a raft of projects taking place that can be found on our website and those of our partners the Wrens and the City of London. For now, here’s a brief overview:
- Charity status we await final confirmation from the Commission;
Interpretation project: paperwork application is still happening; - Accounts are in good order under Simon. We are looking to be sponsoring bigger and better things in the park including an even bigger better more profitable music in the park festival to ensure befits are sustainable for all users of the this nationally important Grade ll* Park;
- Fun things in the offing include in partnership with the city and golf club buggy safaris!!
- Excitement and progressive fun are the order of the day, thank you to all those and especially the committee for making this happen. We hope you have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year.
