I object to lots of cyclists ploughing up the paths of the park and getting in the way of people who want a quiet walk. This will encourage more and more cyclists and ruin the park for those residents who can’t cycle or prefer walking. I am totally against this.
This summer fun cycle ride for young families is a one-off which has been licenced by the City of London as a safe event which has been risk-assessed.
This short ride promotes the new play area and encourages responsible cycling. All riders will be encouraged to treat pedestrians on the shared-use path with courtesy and marshals will be present. As it takes place in June the paths are unlikely to be ‘ploughed up’.
