The sad news has been reported that Peter Brown, Churchwarden of Wanstead Parish, has died suddenly at his home. Mr Brown oversaw the recent restoration of the Georgian St Mary’s Church, Overton Drive, and this will be a fitting momorial of his many years of dedication to preserving the heritage of one of London’s lesser-known architectural gems. Mr Brown was also a member of the Steering Group for the Wanstead Park Project, in which the Parish of Wanstead has been a key particpant from the outset.

The Friends of Wanstead Parklands offer their condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
