The Friends are delighted to welcome Ben Murphy, Chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Epping Forest and Commons Committee, to be Keynote Speaker at the Friends of Wanstead Parklands AGM on 16th March 2023.
The Epping Forest and Commons Committee acts as Conservator and delegate Trustee of the Epping Forest charity which manages a number of assets, including Wanstead Park.
Ben was elected Chairman almost a year ago, against a backdrop of transformation across the City Corporation. In his presentation, he will talk what he has learnt, what progress has been achieved and the direction of travel towards an aspirational new 5-year strategy and funding arrangement.
Ben will also talk about the value of local volunteers, how local stakeholders can influence decision making and the need for greater transparency over the challenges which lie ahead. He will also be available to answer some questions at the conclusion of his talk.
